Walk for Life 2014

Thank you to everyone that donated to the Walk for Life benefiting the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater. We were able to raise $2599.00 this year! 

I will have grand totals later, but according to the website walkers raised approximately $205,000.00!!!!!!!

The Walk for Life raises funds to support The Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater. Even though I am no longer local, I continue to support CPC because they show so much love and support to women facing crisis pregnancies and those that have had abortions. I have seen what all they do in the community, and am confident that every last penny they are given directly helps the women and children that come in for help. The volunteers show Christ like love and give something no tangible item can give(although they do give plenty of those too). Having faced a crisis pregnancy myself, I know how much the support given by CPC can mean to someone. It can be a complete life changer. 

 For every $50.00 raised, they will be able to provide one hour of ministry services to their clients, including ultrasound, medical consultation, pregnancy tests, options counseling, education and much more. They also provide necessity items such as diapers, wipes, toiletry items, clothes, cribs, strollers and more!

100 toiletry filled totes to be donated to local organizations.

Until we have our own building to collect and distribute items, The Heritage Center will be collecting items and donating them to other local organizations that help moms and families in need. 

Our current goal is to make and distribute 100 toiletry supply totes. The totes will be donated to Lil Miracles Pregnancy Resource Center Inc. and Operation Love Ministries. Both are currently in the same building and offer goods and services to families and expecting mothers in need. I have been involved with both groups for about a year now and have seen the wonderful things they do for their community. There is a great need for toiletry items, so that is why I have made this our latest mission.

Here is what will be included in each reusable tote:
1 tube toothpaste
4 or 5 toothbrushes
3 wash cloths
1 bar of soap
1 liquid baby body wash
1 disposable razor
1 shampoo
1 comb

We have all the items thanks to a generous donation we just received. 

Cannot wait to help some mommas in the community!!!

Welcome to our blog

We are in the beginning phases of opening physical center for pregnant women and mothers in need in the Hamilton Co. Indiana area. There is a great need for a center of this nature in this area. We are searching for a building to use as well as securing 501c status. I will be posting updates on our progress and needs that arise here on the blog and on our facebook page The Heritage Center of Hamilton Co.

Until we secure a building, we will be supporting other charitable organizations that offer assistance to families in need with young children.
